Job Description:

We are seeking a Transportation Manager to join our team. In this role, the qualified candidate will manage United Wrecker Services’ transportation functions as well as direct, plan, supervise, and coordinate the efficient pick-up, delivery, and movement of vehicles to and from the auction while providing quality service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the transportation of all assigned vehicles to and from the auction by planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring the driver schedules and overall transportation activity ensuring the timely delivery of all units.
  • Work closely with UAX dealers and and fleet client for in house pick ups and deliveries.
  • Plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance of employees within Transportation department.
  • Responsible for payroll and time management for the Transport Drivers and Lot Staff.
  • Manage billing and payments on all vehicles and 3rd party transports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Experience and Skills:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with all facets of outbound transportation; knowledge of distribution systems, including routing and backhaul/transfer procedures.
  • Experience managing large numbers of driving staff; experience with hiring, training, and motivating teammates and resolving employee relations issues.
  • Strong communication and interaction skills required.
  • Strong management and organizational skills
  • Computer and software knowledge; specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven problem-solving capability.
  • Valid drivers’ license and good driving record required.
